How Can We Help? (FAQs)

Every Question You've Ever Had About Lash Extensions, Answered!

What Are Lash Extensions?

Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent fibbers that are attached to your natural eyelashes in order to make your lash fringe look longer, fuller, and darker.

What’s the Application Process Like?

Our Lash specialist will carefully apply the lash extension one at a time using a medical-grade eyelash extension adhesive that will not irritate or damage the natural lash. This process happens when you are lying down with your eyes closed on a comfy beauty bed for between 1 – 2 hours. It is a very relaxing, non-invasive procedure and many clients fall asleep! (we always recommend you to not have any drink containing caffeine before your appointment so you can enjoy this de-stress process).

How Long Do They Last?

Eyelash extensions can last up to 6 weeks when properly cared for. However, as with the hair on your head, eyelashes follow a natural cycle of shedding and regrowth. Since an individual extension is applied to an individual lash, that extension will fall out on its own when the eyelash sheds from the lash line. It also depends on you how you care for them (not using oil-based products, washing, and brushing lashes daily, not playing or pulling, etc).

To maintain your eyelash extensions, it’s ideally scheduling your infill appointments every 2 – 3 weeks. Our maximum time limit for infills is 4 weeks – anything over 5 weeks is considered a full set.

Can I still wear mascara and eye make-up with eyelash extensions?

Wearing mascara on your extensions is not advised as it will cause them to fall out prematurely and cleaning mascara off your extensions is difficult, it can pull them out and damage your natural lashes.

But why need mascara when you already get your eyelash extension. Say bye-bye to your mascara and get ready to roll out of bed looking great with your flawless eyelashes extensions. Your lashes look like you’re wearing mascara 24/7 without the clumping, streaking, and smudging.

Am I allergic to Eyelash Extensions?

When you are experiencing an allergic reaction to the lash extensions, it is most often because you are allergic to the base ingredient in all lash adhesives. A true sign of an allergic reaction is swelling and inflammation of the eye and eyelids, it is also in both eyes rather than one eye. However, reactions to lash extensions are rare and can show up in different forms. The most common are:

  • Swollen eyes/eyelids

  • Redness of the cornea

  • Itchiness or discomfort around the eye area

These symptoms are likely to show up within the first 48 hours post-application. While an eyelash extension reaction that results in irritation will subside, an allergic reaction worsens over time.

As with any other chemical or substance, you can develop an allergic reaction to eyelash extension glue at any point in time. Even if you have been exposed to it before, with no prior reactions, as with other allergies, symptoms can become stronger and more severe over time, especially if the individual is continually exposed to the allergen after the initial reaction.

If you're experiencing a true eyelash extension allergy, it is advised that the lash extensions should be removed as soon as possible.

The best way to find out if you are allergic to Eyelash Extensions is doing a patch test at least 48 hours before your eyelash extensions treatment, lash lift, eyelash/eyebrow tinting, brow lamination. A disclaimer must be signed if you choose to opt-out of a patch test. It is important to understand that you are proceeding at your own risk. We do not offer refunds if you have an allergic reaction and need your lashes removed. If pregnant, a patch test is compulsory.

If after your appointment, you experience any discomfort, itchiness, or redness in the eye area, please get in touch with us for advice immediately. You should never ignore any symptoms of an allergic reaction, as it may lead to serious health issues if untreated.

Why few of my eyelash extensions falling out within few days?

It's totally normal and nothing unusual about it. Each day we can lose 3-5 natural lashes, but often they fall out unnoticed unless they fall into your eye. When eyelash extensions are applied, we are more aware of when they are shed as they are longer, darker, and thicker.

If you sleep on your stomach with your face squashed into the pillow or you favor sleeping on one side you may notice the lashes may not last as well as the other side.

When is the best time to book an appointment for a special occasion?

If you are a bride-to-be or have a special occasion coming up but never had eyelash extensions applied before, we recommend booking a full set 2 weeks before your wedding or special event at the latest. Follow-up is another infill 3 days before the date. This will allow time to experiment with different lashes, learn proper aftercare, and ensure there are no allergies to the product.
