How to Take Care of Eyelash Extensions At Home?

Updated: Dec 12, 2021

We all know aftercare is the most beneficial help to keep your extensions stay glossy, healthy, and attached to your natural lashes as long as possible, looking lovely up until your next appointment.

Don't forget to follow the helpful tips below at home. They will help you take the best care of your new lashes and preserve your life-line (the adhesive) while keeping your natural lashes healthy and beautiful!

Tip:

Here’s how to keep your lashes "shine like a diamond":

  • Avoid Getting Them Wet the First 48 Hours: Avoid all contact with water and steam within the first 48 hours after having your extensions applied. For the first two days after application, it is best to avoid swimming, saunas or steam rooms.

  • Don’t Use Cleansers With Oil: Don’t use any oil-based products while you have lash extensions. This includes makeup removers, cleansers, facial oils, and oil-serum hybrids, as the oil causes the glue to dissolve.

  • Don’t Stand Under the Shower-head For Too Long: The weight of the water can lead to premature breakages. It is recommending that you brush your lashes when you get out of the shower. Lashes do need to be brushed every so often to remove access water and just in general with a spool brush.

  • Sleep on Your Side: If you’re a stomach sleeper, be forewarned that your eyelashes are likely being pressed into (and rubbed against) your pillowcase, which will expedite fallout and breakage.

  • Avoid Rubbing Your Eyes or Touching Your Extensions: Be gentle. If necessary please gently comb through the lashes each morning to maintain a good appearance, only putting the brush on the tips of your lashes. The more touching, tugging, and rubbing, the weaker your extensions become and the more likely they are to fall out or break off ahead of schedule (taking the natural lash they were attached to with them).

  • Don’t Use an Eyelash Curler or Waterproof Mascara: You should avoid using waterproof mascara and to not use an eyelash curler, perm, or tint on your artificial lashes.

  • Keep 'em Clean: Don't forget to clean your lash every night. Make sure your lashes clean properly to not let built-up makeup/ dead skin cells/ sebum/ dirt affect the retention.

  • Don't Remove Extensions Yourself: If you experience any itching or irritation, the best thing to do is contacting Lash Nap Studio Specialist immediately to have the lash extensions fixed or removed. You should not attempt to remove the lash extensions on your own or with any product.

  • Schedule You Infill Appointment In Time: Infill appointments are necessary every 2-4 weeks to maintain hygiene and a full look for your new grown natural lashes.

Make sure you know that eyelash extensions are a monetary investment, so more care you put in, the longer last. We recommend you use Lash Nap Studio Aftercare Kits. You can purchase them when you visit to our salon.
